In addition to public presentations and yard tours, Backyard Abundance offers several specific services.

Classroom Education

The Create Abundant Landscapes series of classes teaches groups of people about ecological landscape design and implementation through experiential activities. Most activities revolve around a common landscape, but some also target personal landscapes.

One-On-One Education

Similar to classroom education, but for one family and a specific landscape. An ecological designer walks the family through each step of the design process, allowing them to learn and create the landscape design at their own pace. This is similar to how a personal trainer helps someone get into shape based upon their goals, but in this case, we are getting the person and the landscape into ecological shape.

Example-Based Education

A complete ecological landscape design is provided based upon the goals of the family. Implementation is hired out. Learning is accomplished by seeing and working within a familiar example. Educational materials and tutoring time are provided to help the family understand how the system works.

Researched Materials

Educational materials and brochures are created for organizations working to improve community resilience.
