Humans are creative creatures. So why do we believe vast expanses of resource-hungry, high-maintenance turfgrass laid down everywhere across America is aesthetically pleasing? Could we be any less creative? The cultural turfgrass phenomenon began only 150 years ago, but the indoctrination has been long enough for all of us to struggle with alternative ideas.
