Teaching the Next Generation: The Garden as Your Classroom
As part of the Farm to School/Field to Family program, this free class is open to teachers, district staff, parents, and all those interested in using school gardens as outdoor classrooms.
The workshop will focus on demonstrating high-participatory, hands-on learning activities where presenters will showcase engaging lessons in the garden for Pre-K and K-12 students.
Lessons are designed to support current curriculum standards taught in the classroom. In collaboration with Backyard Abundance.
The class is held in the upstairs Social Hall at the Robert A. Lee Community Recreation Center. Hands-on activities will take place outside at the new Edible Classroom.
The class is free.
