The Master River Stewards Program is an adult-education course that teaches about watershed science, river and stream dynamics, aquatic habitat, water quality and monitoring, land management strategies, water policy, stream restoration, and paddling in Iowa. The program was developed by Iowa Rivers Revival, an organization devoted to river awareness and conservation throughout the state. As the program has grown, educators across the state have been trained and are facilitating courses in multiple counties.

The goal of the Master River Steward Program is to build a network of river advocates and experts in organizations, agencies, and communities across the state to protect and improve Iowa’s rivers in order to ensure a lasting resource for future generations.
