About the Event
You already enjoy edible mushrooms when dining out or purchasing them from the store. Now discover how to ethically harvest mushrooms through fun, hands-on exploration in the forest.
Because Mother Nature is unpredictable, we cannot be sure what we will find on our journey. We will search for oysters, golden oysters, woodear, chicken of the woods, hen of the woods, dryads saddle and chanterelles. We will likely encounter non-edibles along the way, helping us differentiate them from the edibles.
To be 100% sure of edibility, you will learn to confidently analyze many mushroom features including size, color, stem and cap shape, pores, gills and teeth.
You are invited no matter your level of outdoor experience.
