Edible Classroom, 400-450 E Burlington St, Iowa City, IA 52240, USA

About the Event

Despite what our rushed society implies, late fall is a time to slow down and prepare for a long, rejuvenating winter rest.

During this class, we will explore the best practices for putting our gardens to bed and how these gardening activities can be applied to our lives for mental, physical and spiritual well-being. Seed-saving, weeding, mulching and cover-cropping will be practiced through fun, hands-on activities.

Organic methods will be learned; no synthetic pesticides or fertilizers will be discussed.

You are invited no matter your level of gardening experience. All are welcome.

Yummy snacks generously provided by New Pioneer Co-op.

CAN YOU LEAVE A LITTLE EARLY?

We realize the class may be a little late in the day.  The first hour covers core concepts and the last half hour is hands-on practice. Please feel free to leave after the first hour if you need to get home.
