Coaching for Health and Well-Being
FEELING A LITTLE OFF LATELY?
Maybe your mind feels cluttered, your energy is low, or you’re just trying to juggle everything without dropping a ball. When life moves too fast you may forget to care for the one thing that keeps everything moving—you.
Small, steady changes—made in a calm space and supported by a coach—can reduce stress and bring back focus.
Lasting well-being starts with simple reconnection—to yourself, to nature, and to what makes you feel alive. In each coaching session, we slow down, set goals and take practical steps that fit your real life.

Nature-Based Coaching
NATURE AS YOUR FRIEND AND ALLY
Through guided reflection, mindfulness, and hands-on activities, you’ll build skills that lower stress and create a healthier outdoor space: make tea from wild edibles, design and tend gardens, interpret birdsong, light a mindful campfire, or simply breathe in fresh air.

Coach Fred Meyer
COACHING GUIDED BY THE NATURAL WORLD
Well-being isn’t just about eating better or exercising more—it’s about feeling connected, grounded, and aligned with what truly sustains you. As a health and well-being coach (NBC-HWC), I help people move from overwhelm to clarity by combining science-backed coaching methods with the wisdom of the natural world.
With over 20 years of experience in permaculture design, gardening, and wilderness guiding, I’ve worked with individuals and communities to create spaces that nourish both the land and the people who tend it. From teaching at the University of Iowa, mentoring through Backyard Abundance, and leading dreamwork circles, my work has always centered on helping others build a deeper connection—with themselves, with nature, and with the life they want to cultivate.
Coaching with me is a hands-on, nature-integrated experience. Whether we’re working through stress in a quiet green space, practicing mindfulness while tending a garden, or exploring personal insights through dream interpretation, every session is designed to help you move forward with purpose.

Coach Jen Kardos
PRACTICAL COACHING ROOTED IN LIVED EXPERIENCE
I’m a licensed mental health therapist (tLMHC) and certified functional medicine health and wellness coach (NBC-HWC, FMCHC). For over a decade, I’ve worked with people one-on-one and in groups who want new solutions for both physical and mental health challenges.
My approach is simple: combine coaching tools with the healing power of nature. I love helping people reconnect with their aliveness—whether through mindful gardening, outdoor experiences, or lifestyle practices that bring energy and balance back into daily life.
I bring both professional training and lived experience. Having overcome chronic conditions such as Lyme disease, hypothyroidism, and mood impacts, I understand how hard it can be to manage symptoms and stay hopeful. I have experience supporting individuals using the Wahls Protocol® and complementary approaches, and I know firsthand that small, practical changes can make a big difference.

Frequently Asked Questions
NEW TO COACHING?
What is health and well-being coaching?
Coaching is not therapy, counseling, or medical treatment—it’s a forward-focused process designed to help you build healthier habits, gain clarity, and take meaningful steps toward personal growth. While therapy often explores past experiences and emotional healing, coaching emphasizes practical strategies for the present and future. Through guided conversations and goal-setting, a trained coach supports you in creating practical and sustainable lifestyle changes that enhance your overall well-being.
How can coaching help me?
If you're feeling overwhelmed, stressed, or stuck in unhelpful habits, coaching offers personalized strategies to navigate these challenges. By fostering self-awareness and resilience, coaching empowers you to take actionable steps toward improved mental clarity, emotional balance, and physical health.
What happens during a coaching session?
Each session involves a relaxed, confidential conversation focusing on your unique needs and goals. Together, we'll explore various aspects of your life, identify obstacles, and develop practical solutions. The aim is to equip you with tools and insights that promote lasting well-being.
Is coaching confidential?
Absolutely. Your privacy is paramount. All discussions during coaching sessions are confidential and conducted in a safe, non-judgmental environment.
Do I need to have specific health issues to benefit from coaching?
