Being Well with Nature

We offer therapeutic and educational services that rejuvenate the mind, body and spirit for individuals, company staff, mental health rehabilitation facilities, churches and schools.

Wellness Classes

We instinctively know that we feel better in outdoor areas that are surrounded by the buzz and beauty of nature. Our experienced educators intentionally cultivate that healthy, innate grounded feeling through a variety of experiences that are customized to desired goals and outcomes. We help each participant understand how activities can be adapted and regularly practiced in a variety of outdoor settings.

Throughout all activities, easy-to-understand, scientifically-proven benefits are explained to help participants understand the many reasons nature is so nurturing.

Classes typically last 1 - 2 hours.

Price: $250 per class for up to 30 participants.

Staff Rejuvenation Retreats

Nurture and celebrate the beginning or end of another cycle. If a shift in life or work urges fresh seeds to be sewn, let nature assist with this new time of growth.

Participants turn inwards, receiving support for challenges and changes by working with experienced life and leadership coaches, and licensed therapists.

Throughout all sessions, we acknowledge the difficulties of systemic barriers that often accompany valuable work: lack of infrastructure and policy support; too much need and too few resources; helplessness; burnout; vicarious trauma. We help manage these barriers indirectly through self-management tools or by directly focusing on specific struggles to build supportive systems and a healthy workplace culture.

Sessions typically last 3 - 7 hours and each can be scheduled for 1 - 7 days.

Price: $50 - $600 per participant depending upon session length and number of days.

Staff Training

Outdoor therapy is a new context for many counselors and care givers. Our trainings help to understand how each person’s unique skill set can be applied in the outdoors to enhance outcomes.

Evidence-based research is reviewed while experiencing the same activities provided to clients. This hands-on approach helps staff to enjoy the benefits of the practices while learning how to apply them.

Classes typically last 2 - 3 hours.

Price: $500 per class for up to 15 participants.

Therapeutic Landscape Design

Imagine a colorful landscape buzzing with life that benefits both mental and environmental health. Our experienced therapists and ecological landscape designers work collaboratively with you to design all or part of a landscape so it functions as a safe, secure, healthy space that works in harmony with mental well-being.

Through a series of 3-5 collaborative design sessions, a master plan is developed for  the landscape showing the exact placement of beds, paths, features and plants. An establishment plan is also provided and establishment oversight can be coordinated with local contractors.

Price: $1,000 - $5,000

Why Nature?

Humanity has thrived with nature over thousands of years; we are inextricably connected to this home and, like all other life forms, we have benefited and developed from its healing powers. Nature allows focus to drift from an individual perspective to one that incorporates the many advantages of this healing environment.

Time in nature has been proven to…

  • Reduce internal clutter, slow down the mind and ease stress, fear and anxiety.

  • Develop renewed attention to increase belief in self and what can be acted upon and accomplished.

  • Experience joy which simulates the brain’s “feel good” hormones and reduces activity in the survival parts of the brain.

  • Connect with emotional experiences to navigate difficult and traumatic events.

  • Ensure all feel welcome in a non-judgmental, safe and secure setting.

  • Reawaken the innate knowledge that we are worthy of being.
