About the Event

This series will walk you through the “how tos” of three different natures based folkart projects, cyanotypes, flower crowns and one surprise experience. We will then embark on a journey to collect items needed and craft together. You will leave with completed projects to utilize yourself or share with friends and family.  You will feel confident recreating these pieces of art for years to come!

This series includes these 3 classes:

  •  July 23: Folk Prints: Printing with Sunlight- Create ethereal images out of natural found items, to share or keep for yourself.
  • September 22: Flower Crown Workshop- Celebrate the Autumnal equinox by creating a wearable flower crown in honor of the bounty of summer.
  • TBD

  • Standard attire and sun protection for hands-on outdoor learning: hat, jeans, sunscreen.
  • A notebook and a pen/pencil for writing and drawing (optional).

Sliding scale fee: $60 - $0, based upon your access to resources.

Save 20% by registering here for all 3 classes in the series.

Harvest Preserve and Backyard Abundance members receive a 10% discount.

We need a minimum of 10 attendees to host the classes. Please invite friends and family to ensure the events happen as scheduled. We would love to meet your loved ones.

Annie Ventullo, is a folk crafter, mushroom hunter and lover of the woods.  When she isn't playing with forest found items, she is a practicing ecotherapist and death doula.

The event is held outside. Masks are optional. We will try to maintain 6' distancing.

This class was developed in collaboration with many community partners using grant funding from the Johnson County Community Foundation and the Roy A. Hunt Foundation. It would not be possible without these sponsors and supporters. Please frequent these generous organizations to thank them for donations of time, materials and funds.
