About the Event
Learn the benefits of early tree care with ISA Certified Arborist, Virginia Hayes, from Sustainable Landscape Solutions.
Through hands-on practice you will learn how to prune young shade trees to promote healthy growth, enhance structure, and prevent future problems. Proper tools and top techniques will be shared along with relevant handouts.
Join us in nurturing our urban canopy.
THINGS TO BRING
- Warm clothes for winter, hands-on: hat, gloves, boots, several layer of clothes
- Pruning saw, loppers, pruners (optional)
- A notebook and a pen/pencil for writing and drawing (optional)
Sliding scale fee: $30 - $5, based upon your access to resources.

- Virginia is an ISA Certified Arborist with Sustainable Landscape Solutions and possesses over a decade of experience in tree work, specializing in urban forestry and sustainability.
- Fred offers years of experience as a permaculture designer, Master Gardener and fruit tree grower.

This fee is for people with expendable income. This option allows you to assist others in attending our classes by “paying it forward” for those who have less access to opportunities.$30.00
This fee is for people who have the resources they need to make ends meet and can attend our classes at full cost.$25.00
Reduced Access to Resources
This fee is for people who are working hard to make ends meet on low wages and have less access to resources and opportunities.$15.00
This option is for people who have low access to resources. Examples include those with income below the poverty line, people living with mental and physical health concerns, and people experiencing insecurity in basic needs attainment.$5.00
